ToMaC company
It is not usual that a production company can progress without own production hall. The company of the family Tomaškovič has succeeded. Their ToMaC had made a reputation even before they built a proper plant. Their mechanical engineering products make part of many “sports cars”. It seems like an incredible fairy tale but it is true. The mechanical engineering company ToMaC really didn’t have own production hall in the beginning. However, there was a visionary and a person committed to translating his ideas into reality. The nonexisting production hall was replaced by preceding experience and creative spirit of the founder, Milan Tomaškovič. Namely, he fi rstly joined his professional career with the work in the factory of Sandrik in Hodruša-Hámre.
The company had passed many years of experience and Mr Tomaškovič gradually developed from a toolmaker and technologist to the chief technologist and later leader of the technical development. In that period, he was already dedicated to own entrepreneurial dream. As the founder and representative of the company ToMaC, he started to receive fi rstly minor and labour undemanding orders in the year 1990. In the case of major and more demanding orders, he subcontracted bigger companies, therefore the company didn’t require huge production spaces.
Quality of his work brought other orders and so the production began to extend. Firstly in the leased premises with a few employees and since the year 2002, in the bought production hall with warehouse and offi ces. Other signifi cant development of the company ToMaC happened when both children of Mr Tomaškovič joined the management of the company. Daughter and son, after graduation from universities and completion of professional traineeships in foreign companies, have brought modern management methods and after the necessary generation change, they have gained strategic customers, mainly from the automotive industry. Today, the company ToMaC with 80 employees focuses on three main business directions – engineering, tool shop and serial production with specialization on the luxurious cars and sports versions of various brands. They produce pressing components for car brands Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley, Rolls Royce and sports versions of other car brands.
During almost 30 years of existence of the new mechanical engineering company in the valley of Pohronie, the company ToMaC has gained several awards. The most precious is the honorary award of the then minister of economy, Juraj Miškov in the year 2011 for responsible business, signifi cant contribution to the economy and employment in the Slovak Republic. The tool shop, second important fi eld of the company ToMaC, presents the essential part of the long-term strategy. It covers design, construction and production of tools and devices for processing metal sheet parts, cast and pressed components.

The company supported the construction of the modern artifi cial ice rink. It serves not only for the inhabitants of Hodruša and employees but even a new ice-hockey club could be established.
